A few years I was awarded the supreme honor of being Artist in Residence at the Doof Museum of Culture and History. located in the historic town of Martinez, California. Here at this state of the arts compound for creativity, I have been provided with a nice studio with plenty of wall space, a clean up sink and a cat that comes to tell me what time is dinner. Actually what time is his dinner. Fortunately during by 15 year residency, I have had lots of inspiration and lately I have been in the grips of a series of paintings leaning on formalist issues I have marked long ago as my personal areas of artistic explorations. As per my contract with the DMCH, I am obligated to post my progress at the Residency.
The current series has evolved a lot of hand work involving carving knives and the color white. I have submitted this information to the research staff involved in some unauthorized psychology experiments that the Museum will do from time to time to raise funds.
